IIAEについて
設立経緯・理念
産業革命以来、科学技術の発展や化石燃料等の燃焼等で私たちの住む地球の大気環境の質は大きく変化してしまいました。現在は二酸化炭素が当時より約100ppm程度増加して、400ppm以上になってしまったことなどで、気候変動・温暖化が進行していると報じられています。また、PM2.5や光化学オキシダントによる健康被害も、地球的な規模で進行していることで懸念されています。
地域と地球の大気環境の保全・改善のために、大気汚染物質や地球温暖化物質動態に関する、発生源把握、計測・観測、モニタリング、モデリング等を実施し、これらの分野に関する研究成果や技術の評価、蓄積を図ることを目的に設立しました。
有史以来、初めてと言われるこの極難に遭遇した地球を、住みやすい『蒼き星・地球』として維持するために、私たちは専門研究者を結集して、今までの研究成果を駆使して人類の未来に貢献したいと考えます。 研究者、技術者の活躍の場を提供する中で、世代間の交流、技術や知見の普及・伝承を行っていきます。
理事長挨拶
IIAEは２０１７年７月に設立されましたが、それ以降シニア―や現役の研究者を講師として大気環境関連のセミナーを中心とした活動を行って参りました。
今後とも基本的な課題や最新の問題に関しての定期セミナー、特別セミナー、ワークショップ等を通じて市民、大学、地方自治体諸機関、国公立研究機関、民間コンサルタント、測定機器メーカー等、多くの皆さまを対象として分野横断的、省庁横断的な取り組みを継続的に実施して行きたいと考えております。
一方、セミナー等の持ち方に関しましては、昨年からの新型コロナ禍の影響を受け、その実施方法を大きく変えて行く必要に迫られております。一つの方法としてのリモートセミナーでは、広く全国の皆さまに情報をお届け出来るメリットも大きいと考えます。ご参加の皆様からの、ご意見を戴きながら試行錯誤して行きたいと考えておりますので、どうかよろしくお願い申し上げます。

History and Philosophy
Since the Industrial Revolution, the quality of the Earth’s atmosphere has changed dramatically due to advances in science and technology and the extensive use of fossil fuels. Today, atmospheric carbon dioxide concentrations have increased by approximately 100 ppm compared with pre-industrial levels, exceeding 400 ppm, and are reported to be accelerating climate change and global warming. In addition, health problems caused by PM2.5 and photochemical oxidants have become issues of global concern.
The Institute was established with the aim of contributing to the preservation and improvement of local and global atmospheric environments through source identification, measurement and observation, monitoring, modeling, and related research on air pollutants and greenhouse gases. We also strive to evaluate, accumulate, and utilize research findings and technologies in these fields.
Facing what is often described as an unprecedented crisis in human history, we aspire to help preserve our planet as a livable “Blue Earth” by bringing together leading researchers and applying accumulated scientific knowledge for the benefit of future generations. At the same time, we provide opportunities for researchers and engineers to make meaningful contributions while promoting intergenerational exchange and the transfer of knowledge, technologies, and expertise.
Message from the Chairman
IIAE was established in July 2017. Since then, we have primarily organized seminars related to atmospheric environments, inviting both distinguished senior researchers and active professionals as lecturers.
Going forward, through regular seminars, special lectures, workshops, and other activities addressing both fundamental and emerging issues, we hope to further promote interdisciplinary and cross-sector collaboration among citizens, universities, local governments, public research institutions, private consulting firms, and manufacturers of environmental monitoring instruments.
At the same time, the COVID-19 pandemic has significantly changed the way seminars and events are conducted. Remote seminars, as one solution, have the advantage of providing information to participants throughout Japan. We will continue to refine and improve these activities through ongoing efforts while carefully considering feedback from participants.
